Whether you prefer landscapes or wildlife, painter Jim Bortz offers an intimate glimpse into the natural world of North America. Fueled by a lifetime of personal experience in the field, he is outdoorsman with a brush, a painter with a fly rod. While hiking in the traditional footsteps of a sportsman, Jim cuts a rugged path and is genuinely versed in nature. This knowledge and awareness is reflected in Jim's unique artistic interpretations, so the viewer is treated to an authentic visual experience.
Bortz' paintings are included in the permanent collection of the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wausau, WI and have been selected multiple times for the prestigious Birds In Art exhibit (2007-2014).
The release of the art book "The Long Way Home" in 2010 offered insights into Jim's artistic process as well as thoughts from both the studio and field.
The BortzArt studio is located in Stoneboro, Pennsylvania.
