Matthew David Grant

Matthew David Grant is an artist from Dallas, TX working in Utah.  He has an MFA from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and has studied with Tony Ryder, Phil Boatwright, John Poon, Bryan Mark Taylor, and others. He began his professional artistic journey when he appeared on the San Francisco art scene in 2000. Since then, he has participated in a number of collaborative projects and has exhibited his work throughout the world.

Unlike many of his contemporaries, Matthew David Grant is primarily self-taught and has his own approach to, and definition of art. He believes in constantly taking risks and believes that inspiration can be found wherever he looks. He focuses on stylizing the details in nature in an abstract way while maintaining a vivid photorealist look.  His goal is to capture and bring to life the images he and others are interested in.
